We are on the lookout for a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to spearhead the creation, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of comprehensive EHS programs across our organization. This pivotal role ensures adherence to local, state, and federal regulations while fostering an organizational culture that prioritizes safety and environmental stewardship. The EHS Manager will be the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and will provide essential EHS support to our operations, maintenance, and engineering teams during routine activities and special projects. This position also includes mentoring EHS technicians and overseeing daily EHS operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

  • Coordinate and conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and comprehensive site safety/environmental audits.

  • Develop, implement, and deliver engaging EHS training programs on safety procedures, environmental regulations, hazardous material handling, and emergency response protocols.

  • Thoroughly investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and supervise the tracking and resolution of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

  • Maintain and continuously update site-specific EHS documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), waste manifests, and compliance records.

  • Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate EHS considerations into daily operations and major projects.

  • Act as the site lead for all EHS initiatives and represent the site in internal and external audits and inspections.

  • Stay ahead of regulatory changes and emerging industry trends to proactively adapt policies and procedures.

  • Oversee environmental programs including hazardous waste management, air emissions, water discharge compliance, and sustainability initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related technical field.

  • 12-15 years of relevant experience in occupational safety and health; or a Master's degree with 10-13 years of relevant experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NIOSH) and industry best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience in hazard analysis, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

  • Proven ability to develop and implement safety standards, preventive actions, and assurance plans across complex industrial or technical environments.

  • Expertise in industrial safety, including the proper use of PPE, toxicology, radiation protection, and engineering controls.

  • Skilled in regulatory compliance management and conducting formal safety audits and developing safety procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence cross-functional teams and advise executive leadership on safety and regulatory matters.

  • Adept at managing and mentoring technical teams and leading initiatives with significant organizational impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a closely related technical discipline.

  • Certifications from recognized safety organizations, such as:

    • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

    • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

    • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)

    • Professional Engineer (P.E.) in a relevant safety discipline.

  • Experience in designing and integrating safety devices, engineering controls, or protective equipment in industrial or high-risk environments.

  • Background in toxicology, radiation safety, or hazardous material management is a plus.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-level EHS software platforms or safety data management systems.

  • Experience in advising or developing safety policies at the program or enterprise level.

  • Previous experience in regulated sectors such as aerospace, nuclear, defense, or chemical manufacturing is highly beneficial.

Pay Range: $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
