Job Description

This position is for a full time news anchor/reporter for MORNING DRIVE, providing critical content to Cleveland and surrounding areas along with Regional responsibilities. Gathers, writes, edits, and reports multiple market news stories and newscasts. Monitors sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media. Provides newscasts/reports and write copy. Provides weather forecasts for stations in the market. Reports/Anchors news for both Cleveland and Ohio statewide reports and other markets as needed. Strong on-air presence and ability to present stories/newscasts with authority. Excellent writing and editing ability; excellent grammar. Strong time management skills are key; adept at setting priorities and managing deadlines. Knowledgeable and up-to-date with local and national trends. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proficient in media production (primarily audio) and broadcast systems. Strong social media skills including writing/posting for Facebook, X and Instagram. At least 1-3 years experience. College degree preferred, but not required. The nature of news and the part time position at times could require flexibility in terms of scheduling and coverage of a story. Respect for others and a strong belief that others should do this in return. Full proficiency and understanding of job function. Open communication with colleagues and direct reports that encourages collaboration and team consensus. Strong problem solving skills. Efficiency with independent work under minimal guidance. Commitment to process improvement for overall team effectiveness. Professional communication that stresses diplomacy, empathy and patience.
