Position Summary: UNC seeks a Research Assistant to join Dr. Marissa Hall’s Policy Insights Lab. The lab conducts research to inform food, tobacco, and alcohol policies designed to improve public health. This 11‑month position may extend to up to two years, depending on fit and project needs. Responsibilities: The Research Assistant will support an NIH‑funded study testing a campaign to encourage people who smoke menthol cigarettes to quit and will evaluate the impact of banning these products. Duties include recruiting and screening participants, scheduling study visits, consenting eligible participants, implementing the study protocol (online surveys and in‑person data collection), disbursing study incentives, assisting with data entry, and performing related administrative tasks. The role may require evening and weekend hours and reliable transportation. Minimum Education And Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience from an accredited institution. Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience: Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills Comfortable working both in teams and independently Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi‑task Proficient using Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience: Experience or interest working in tobacco control research or public health research is preferred.
